The Ephorate of Antiquities of Corfu is a Public Regional Directorate of the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports, responsible for the protection of the cultural heritage of the islands of Corfu, Paxos and the smaller northern islands of Otto, Ereikousa and Mathraki. The responsibilities of the Ephorate include the protection and promotion of archaeological sites and monuments of the past, until 1830, as well as the care, organization and management of four museum spaces. The Ephorate, as the most competent public body for cultural development, has vast experience in the implementation of European programs for the promotion and utilization of the cultural reserve in a highly tourist area. At the same time, it has trained and experienced scientific and technical staff in the field of culture, as well as a long and in-depth knowledge of the requirements of the tourist public.
